Noh Mi-Jung

Abstract
This study analyzed gender, age, residence, type of disability, distribution of general anesthesia cases by year, general anesthesia frequency, general anesthesia operation time and treatment contents of patients who underwent dental treatment under general anesthesia at the Pusan ??Oral Clinic for the Disabled . A total of 1,109 cases (814 patients) who received dental treatment under general anesthesia from February 2015 to December 2020 at this center were targeted. The number of patients who received dental treatment under general anesthesia was relatively higher in males than in females, and the age distribution was 48.3% with the highest rate at 20 to 39 years old. The most frequent residential areas of patients were in Busan, followed by Gyeongnam and Ulsan, and the patients were counted in the order of intellectual disability, autism, and brain lesions, which belong to the category of severely handicapped in the dental field. 92.1% of all patients with disabilities received dental treatment under general anesthesia once or twice, and most of the contents of dental treatment consisted of extractions and restorations that were completed in one cycle. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to establish a customized treatment system according to the type of disability and the type of frequent treatment, and it is believed that it is necessary to prepare a welfare policy to improve the oral cavity of the disabled.
